Winning fights

Every fight is your attack against their defense, and the fight report shows both numbers. Here is what moves them, and how to get the most XP out of your stamina.

01 The short version

  • Spend your stamina. It refills on its own and never costs you a job, so a full stamina bar is XP left on the table.
  • Pick fights you're likely to win, but not sure to win. A win against someone stronger pays more XP than an easy one.
  • Finish them off. Putting someone in the hospital (icing them) pays extra XP and finds gear more often.
  • Gear for your whole mafia counts. Each member carries one of your weapons, one armor and one vehicle into every fight.
  • Keep your cash in the vault. A loss takes a share of what you carry, never what you have in the bank.

02 How the odds work

When you attack, your attack is set against their defense. Both come from the same places: your skill points, plus the best weapon, armor and vehicle for every member of your fighting mafia (up to 50 people), plus bonuses from your bloodline and your family.

On top of that, a few things move each side's strength:

  • First strike: the attacker gets +30%. Gear has more defense than attack overall, so this makes an even match an even fight.
  • Mafia size: +1% for every 5 members in your fighting mafia, up to +10%.
  • Health: fighting hurt makes you weaker, down to 80% of your strength at no health.

The odds then follow the gap between the two strengths, steeply. A clear edge nearly always wins, and an even fight is a real fight:

Your strength against theirsYour oddsXP for a win
0.8× (weaker)29%×1.31
Even50%×1.00
1.2× stronger67%×0.86
1.5× stronger84%×0.77
2× stronger94%×0.73

Odds never go below 5% or above 95%. After every fight, the fight report shows both strengths, the gear each side used and every bonus.

03 XP from fights

A win pays about 2.4× what your best job pays per energy, so fights keep pace with your jobs as you level up. A loss still pays 1 XP. Each fight costs 1 stamina.

The odds change the pay: beating someone stronger pays up to ×1.6, and an easy win pays a bit less (see the table above). So the best targets are the ones you beat most of the time, not every time.

Power attack: hit the same target up to 5 times in one tap. It stops early if you lose, ice them or run low, and each fight costs and pays like a normal one.

If there aren't enough real players near your level, local hoods fill the list. They're built like a typical player at their level, with a crew sized to yours, so better gear and skills really do make them easier.

04 Icing

Win a fight that drops them below 20 health and you've iced them: they're in the hospital. An ice pays 2× a normal win's XP on top of the win, and finds gear 4 times as often. Iced counts unlock titles:

TitlePlayers iced
Cold Hands50
Ice in the Veins250
The Iceman1,000

Nobody below 20 health can attack or be attacked. Heal at the hospital, or wait for your health to come back.

05 Cash, revenge and bounties

  • What a loss costs: the winner takes 10% of the cash in your pocket. The vault is safe, so bank before you log off.
  • Revenge: for 24 hours after someone attacks you, you can hit back once per attack with +10% on your odds.
  • Lying low: lose 5 fights within an hour and nobody can attack you for 30 minutes. The same player can hit you at most 3 times an hour.
  • The hitlist: put a bounty of at least $10,000 on anyone. It costs the bounty plus 10% (another 10% to stay anonymous), and the first player to beat them within 24 hours collects it. A hitlist attack costs 2 stamina.
  • Other cities: you can fight anyone in any city. When the loser is somewhere else, the win is capped at about an hour of your newest jobs' cash, so nobody moves a fortune between cities.

06 The Daily Raid

Once a day you pick one of three raids. The riskier the raid, the more it pays, but a failed raid pays nothing and costs you 8 to 18 health:

RaidSuccessCashXPGear chance
Easy90%1 h of jobs8% of a level-
Medium65%2.5 h of jobs20% of a level15%
Risky40%6 h of jobs45% of a level50%

Cash is counted in hours of your newest district's jobs, and XP as a share of what your current level needs.

Which one? On average the risky raid pays the most cash and XP (40% × 6 hours beats 90% × 1 hour). Take the easy one only on a day when you can't afford to lose the health.
